I got Rhabdomyolysis 2 years ago and still have pain and weakness. The swelling in my arms never went down, when I workout now I have no muscle or cardiovascular endurance. I also have Hashimoto’s and Raynaud’s. Which doesn’t help. I put on 65lbs when my thyroid cooked out and have not been able to lose it. As a gym owner and certified personal trainer, I am beyond frustrated.

Marie, oh I am SO very sorry to hear about what you are going through. There are no words. I understand how frustrated you are. I’ve met others who have had long term rhabdo symptoms. For some like yourself, this is not a short term issue. Others have told me how rhabdo can sometimes impact their ability to exercise.
About your weight gain, I want you to know its ok if a personal trainer does not “look perfect.” I’m in the same business and I could lose a few pounds myself. I know other fitness instructors who have gained weight too. Do read my post Do personal trainers have to look perfect. I have a lot to say about this issue.
Marie, would you be open to coming on my podcast to talk about what happened and your struggles? I believe you bring some unique insights to the conversation about rhabdo and the issue of fitness trainers gaining weight. If yes just let me know.
