With the holidays fast approaching and everybody scrambling for ideas I know the fitness and health nuts you know can sometimes be the most challenging to find things for. To help you, here are 25 potential gift ideas that I think will satisfy most people you know. I included a mix of things for men, women, and even a few things you might want to get for yourself too. Several of these I own myself. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
Strength Stack 52
Strength Stack 52 is basically a deck of cards – exercise cards. There are over 100 exercises that use your own body weight as resistance. No fitness equipment needed. Strength Stack was created by a US soldier serving in Iraq who needed a way to stay fit without a gym. The cards even have a QR code that, when scanned, pull up a video of how to do the exercise. There are separate cards for yoga, TRX training, kettlebells, and many others.
Mint Mobile
We are all trying to save money this year. Mint Mobile, owned by actor, Ryan Renolds, is as good as more expensive cell phone carriers. I tested Mint Mobile for 3 months to see if it was as good as AT&T. The coverage and quality were identical. For $20 a month, I get unlimited talk and text messages, 8 gigs of data, and a FREE mobile hotspot. They have lesser expensive plans too. Since doing my experiment, I signed up with Mint Mobile for a full year -and it only cost $240.
Argireline Wrinkle Cream
Argireline is a botox cream. Several studies have shown Argireline temporarily removes fine lines and wrinkles for several hours. This is usually the key ingredient in expensive fast wrinkle remover creams you have heard about. The good news is Argireline costs a LOT less.
NewMe Instructional Yoga Mat
The New Me Yoga Mat is unlike other mats you've seen. This one has pictures of 70 different yoga moves printed on it! It's a great gift idea for any yoga lover.
Sweat Proof Hair Rings
When I asked women about Invisibobble hair ties, several said they were great. They come in several colors and they are not expensive! They make a great stocking stuffer.
Touchless Soap Dispenser
Instead of using a bar of soap to wash your hands, why not try a touchless soap dispenser? I like the Secura touchless soap dispenser because it can hold up to 17 oz and costs less than others.
T2 IsoTrainer
I think you'll be hearing a lot about The T2 IsoTrainer System in the near future. It's portable, lightweight, and lets you exercise at home, even in small areas. With the T2 IsoTrainer, YOU provide the resistance. I think T2 would be useful for both athletes and injury rehab alike. This would be the perfect gift for the physical therapist in your life. Rhabdo Coffee Mug
As you may know, I wrote the first book about rhabdomyolysis. I also created the very first rhabdo coffee mug, complete with symptoms. Both sides of the mug reveal the major rhabdo symptoms to make it easier for all to see. This is perfect for the gift for medical/science/fitness nerds in your life. While you are there, check out my original design hoodies and shirts too. If there's anything you don't see that's you'd like to, email me.
SPIbelt Running Belt
The SpIBelt Running Belt was created for runners but I see no reason why it can't be used by hikers and bikers too. It's a no-bounce waistband with a large zippered pocket for your phone, keys, money, or whatever else you want to keep with you. It comes in different colors too and there's even a kids belt too.
X3 Bar
If you are looking for a portable resistance training gizmo, check out the X3 resistance training system. It has almost cult-like devotion among some people. The X3 Bar is one of the most popular home workout machines I've reviewed. It uses heavy resistance bands to provide a full-body workout.
Amazon Kindle
People often ask me how I find the time to read. It's because of my Amazon Kindle Paperwhite. I've had my kindle for about 7 years. It's portable enough to take anywhere and it downloads kindle books easily. Kindle books cost a lot less than physical books.
Reading is easy because of its e-ink technology. You adjust the size of the text too which is great for those with vision problems. The Paperwhite made now is waterproof too. The newer Kindle Oasis is said to be even better but it costs more and I have not tried it yet. If you are looking for a quality e-book reader, this is it.
Here are a few books I've read recently:
- How Not To Die
- Sugar Salt Fat: How Food Giant Get us Hooked
- China RX
- Do You Need That Pill?
- The Cannabis Prescription
Kettle Gryp
The Kettle Gryp turns any dumbbell into a kettlebell! The kettle grip is a lightweight hinged plastic case that wraps around any dumbbell, turning it into a kettlebell. It's made in America and small enough that you can even take it on vacation.
Yeti Stainless Steel Thermos
The Yeti Rambler Thermos holds up to 30 oz of your favorite hot or cold beverage. Hot and cold beverages stay that way for hours. It's BPA free and dishwasher safe. I've had my Yeti for years. Even after being in a hot car for 8 hours, cold water stays ice cold. In the winter, hot liquids stay hot – for hours.
VitaMix
The Vitamix is the ultimate blender. The blades spin at over 28,000 RPM – so fast it will make hot soup! There are many models but my pic is the VitaMix 5200. I've had the same Vitamix since 2002. It still works as great as the day I bought it. And, it's made in America.
NutriBullet Pro
The beauty of the Nutribullet is you can not only make yourself a healthy smoothie – you can also take it with you without pouring your smoothies into a separate container. The NutriBullet Pro has an auto shut off, is compact and powerful enough to pulverize whatever you give it. I've used the NutiBullet and have been very impressed with it.
Zeicobs Exercise Dice
Zeicobs exercise dice are just what they sound like – a pair of dice. You roll the 3 dice and whatever exercises show up on the dice – that's your workout! Simple and brilliant at the same time.
Gaiam On-the-Go Yoga Mat Carrier Strap
The Gaiam Yoga Mat Carrier Strap is nifty. With its magnetic clips, it can easily hold almost any yoga mat. It also comes with an expandable zippered pocket that can easily hold cell phones, money, and car keys.
DynaPro Exercise Ball
The burst-resistant exercise ball from DynaPro is extra thick and can support over 2000 pounds. It's made from 100% recycled materials, It comes with an air pump. With their air pump, you can inflate the ball in about 10 minutes. This is a burst-resistant ball, which means it's less likely to pop unexpectedly. DynaPro balls comes in 4 sizes: 45 cm, 55 cm, 65 cm, and 75 cm. For most people, between 5 and a half and 6 feet tall, the 55cm and 65 cm balls will be appropriate.
Power Systems Covered Resistance Bands
The resistance bands by Power Systems are unique. They have comfortable, spongy handles and the elastic bands are surrounded in a fabric that protects the bands and you. The bands come in 6 different colors. Each color provides a different resistance. Orange is extra light providing 4-15 pounds of resistance. Gray is ultra heavy, providing 22 to 85 pounds of resistance. I've used PowerSystem Bands for years. They are very very well made.
Fit Bit Charge 3
This is the Fitbit activity tracker I have. It accurately counts your daily steps, stairs climbed, and it will even tell you how well you are sleeping. Even though you wear the Fitbit Charge 3 on your wrist I've compared it to the original FitBit 1 and the iPhone health app and the steps and stairs climbed are very similar.
InnoGear Essential Oil Aromatherapy Diffuser
I have an InnoGear diffuser. I have to admit, I like it. Just add a little bit of water and a few drops of essential oils and you're good to go. Very easy to use. I like the way the light changes as the mist comes out and it makes the room smell nice. This one has 7 different colors and a water-less auto shut off. Many varieties of InnoGear Diffusers are also available.
Under Armour Sports Masks
Several have told me the Under Armour Sportsmask fit really well and are made from quality material. They are made from 100% polyester and designed to be able to be worn all day if needed.
Amazon Echo Dot (4th Gen)
I use my Alexa Echo Dot every day. I use it to catch up with podcasts (mine too), tell me the news and weather, play music and trivia games (there are several), give health tips and I even use it as a white noise machine. The 4th gen Echo has improved speakers that are better at directing the sound where you want to hear it. It also has a microphone off button for those concerned about privacy.
Essential Oil Shower Steamers
A set of 15 mint and eucalyptus aromatherapy shower melts by Body Restore that dissolves in the bathtub, releasing essential oils that smell nice. A friend with really good taste told me about these so they must be good.
Fingerless Mitten Gloves
The rock I live under is bigger than I thought because until recently I didn't know these things existed. These things are genius! They are mittens that turn into fingerless gloves when you need to use your phone or when driving. The mitten gloves by Vmevo are inexpensive and quite a few people I know said they loved them.

Joe,
For Mint Mobile, or another similar service like Consumer Cellular, you need an unlocked phone, that is of course paid off. For a new purchase, I believe an unlocked phone is more expensive. I don’t know how willing mobile phone providers would be to unlock their phones so their customers can go elsewhere.
Joe says
Judy, with iPhones – which I have -they are all unlocked if you buy them from Apple. They are all unlocked if you buy them up front and are not part of a cellular plan. While my iPhone was unlocked, it was locked by AT&T for security reasons while I used them. I think all cell phone companies do that. When I switched to Mint Mobile, I called AT&T to tell them I was switching and they unlocked my phone. As long as you are not under a contract, companies have to unlock the phone when you ask.
An unlocked phone may be more expensive. I’m not sure. you can purchase phones directly from Mint Mobile too.
Judy says
Joe, thanks. That’s good to know. I’ll have to see when my contract is up.
